Lightweight ultra-low conductivity mullite fire bricks are a type of high-strength, low-thermal-conductivity refractory material. While retaining the advantages of traditional mullite bricks, such as high-temperature resistance and corrosion resistance, they achieve lightweight and energy efficiency through a large number of uniformly distributed micropores, making them an ideal choice for high-efficiency industrial furnaces.

Characteristics of Lightweight Ultra-Low Conductivity Mullite Bricks

Energy saving and consumption reduction: Low thermal conductivity (approximately 0.25-0.53 W/m·K at 1000℃), significantly reducing furnace heat dissipation and heat storage, and accelerating heating and cooling rates.

Structural stability: Low creep rate at high temperatures, good thermal shock resistance, can directly contact the flame, and is resistant to acid and alkali corrosion.

Reduced load: Weight can be 10%-20% lighter than traditional refractory materials, effectively reducing the load on the kiln’s steel structure.

Precise dimensions: Mostly machine-pressed, ensuring precise dimensions, accelerating construction speed and guaranteeing masonry quality.

Hot-face lining: Serving as the working layer of a kiln, directly in contact with the flame, used in ceramic roller kilns, tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns, etc.

Backing insulation: Serving as an insulation layer behind high-temperature heavy bricks, used in hot blast stoves, petrochemical cracking furnaces, etc.

Specialty applications: Lightweight ultra-low conductivity mullite bricks are widely used in critical components such as glass crucibles, non-ferrous metal furnaces, and transition zones (using composite structures) in cement kilns.
