Magnesia chrome bricks are made from sintered magnesia, fused magnesia, and fused magnesia-chrome as raw materials, through high pressure molding, drying and high temperature firing.Magnesia chrome bricks are featured with high bulk density, good slag resistance, strong erosion resistance, high temperature volume stability, good thermal shock resistance. They are widely used in high temperature industrial fields, especially in steel, electric power, chemical and other industries.

1.Steel industry

Steelmaking is one of the most important applications for magnesia-chrome bricks. In the steelmaking process, magnesia-chrome bricks are primarily used in electric furnaces, converters, steelmaking furnaces, and their linings. The temperatures within these furnaces are often extremely high, and magnesia-chrome bricks effectively resist corrosion from molten metal and erosion from furnace gases, improving the efficiency and safety of the smelting process.

Due to their excellent thermal shock resistance, magnesia-chrome bricks maintain structural stability during repeated cycles of high and low temperatures, avoiding the cracking and chipping that can occur with traditional refractories. This extends the life of the equipment and reduces maintenance and replacement costs.

2.Power industry

In the power industry, especially in coal-fired power plants and waste incineration plants, magnesia-chrome bricks are widely used for lining boilers and flue gas ducts. These places have high operating temperatures and are often attacked by corrosive gases. The high temperature resistance and corrosion resistance of magnesia-chrome bricks make them an ideal refractory material.

3.Chemical Industry

In the production of petrochemical products, magnesia-chrome bricks are used in oil cracking furnaces and chemical reactors. The high temperatures and corrosive gases generated during chemical reactions place significant pressure on the equipment. Magnesia-chrome bricks effectively prevent damage to the equipment lining, improving production stability and safety.

Magnesia-chrome bricks can also be used in glass kilns. High-temperature melting furnaces and annealing lehrs used in glass production place extremely high demands on refractory materials. Magnesia-chrome bricks are widely used in the glass industry, particularly in melting furnaces, because they can withstand the prolonged high temperatures and corrosion of molten glass. Direct-bonded magnesia chrome bricks and semi-rebonded magnesia chrome bricks are commonly used in furnace walls and floors, maintaining kiln stability and ensuring a smooth glass melting process.

4.Metallurgy and non-ferrous metal smelting

In the metallurgical industry, magnesia-chrome bricks are used as lining materials for smelting furnaces during the non-ferrous metal smelting process. In the smelting of metals such as aluminum, copper, and zinc, magnesia-chrome bricks can withstand high temperatures and the erosion of molten metal, reducing furnace lining wear and improving smelting efficiency. Fused magnesia-chrome bricks are commonly used in smelting furnaces and steelmaking equipment, providing long-term, stable refractory protection for the smelting process. In aluminum electrolytic cells, magnesia-chrome bricks are used to protect the high-temperature environment within the cell, preventing corrosion and heat loss from the electrolyte and ensuring a smooth electrolysis process.
